Introduction - Beginning Mouse and Typing Skills Development

Welcome to the first trimester of kindergarten computers at Sacred Heart School.

The main focus of the first trimester computer lessons is to introduce and improve beginning mouse and keyboarding skills using free educational online resources.

The selected learning games target math and reading skills.

Students will consistently and regularly type the alphabet A-Z to develop letter recognition and basic keyboard literacy.

Students will also develop mouse skills such as pointing, clicking, double clicking, and dragging while practicing counting, as well as matching shapes and colors.

Below you will find the lesson plans used during computer class. The entire curriculum is online, so parents and students can access the material at home on their own computers. Each week is color coded to make it easier for the students to find which lesson they are on. For example, if we are on Week Five, you can say, "Find the orange monkey and click on it."
